Fleur Delacour confidently strode up to the goblet and let her name be eaten by the flames. She turned around and started to head out of the hall. She made it to the door when the sudden silence of the hall caught her attention, and she turned around once again.
All eyes were on the corner of the room where the stands were set up. There was a group that almost seemed separated from the rest. From their position they would have had the perfect position to look at the rest of the hall. Most of the students she did not know except for the Hufflepuff that many thought would be the Hogwarts champion. The weird thing was that he was not the center of the group. At the center, standing tall was a teen. He appeared to be 15 maybe 16 with jet black hair and green eyes that radiated confidence. The Hufflepuff was directly to his right still seated, and off to his left was a female Slytherin about the teens age. She was beautiful with golden hair and eyes that were almost purple. She had an air of indifference that was unsettling.
The teen marched forward, people making room for him to get to the front of the stands. He made his way towards the goblet, everyone holding their breath as they waited to see what would happen. The teen stopped right before the age line, his eyes roving over the expanse. Purposefully he raised his hand up to the barrier. His hand was stopped by the barrier, proving he was under the age of 17. Almost lazily he walked around the goblet, trailing his hand along the barrier, till he came to a stop about 75% of the way around.
[11:15 PM] Slowly the hand touching the barrier turned green as magic started to pour out of it, forming a solid green bar connecting the hand to the floor. A select few shivered as the green was eerily close to the green of the killing curse. The teen’s body tensed as the green magic started to change to the same blue as the age line. Once the two colors matched, the teen stepped forward with his arm outstretched the age line bending around the bar until the former circular barrier gained a shape more akin to a crescent moon as the teen reached the goblet.
With a flourish the teen pulled out a slip of paper and deposited it into the goblet. The fire flared red as it accepted the name but the teen wasn’t looking at the goblet as he stared at Viktor Krum and nodded his head before he locked eyes with Fleur and gave her a nod as well.
Accomplishing what he wished, the teen stepped away from the goblet allowing the age line to return to its natural state. Calmly he walked back to his spot and sat down as if he hadn’t shown precise magic control along with a shocking amount of power for someone whose magic has yet to reach its final maturity. The hall was silent for several moments afterward before the students began to talk about what they had just witnessed.
Fleur finally left the hall, confident of who her most challenging opponent would be.
