Flowerpot

Wolf of Hogwarts

Fleur couldn’t sleep and decided to practice more. Fleur found a clearing just inside the forbidden forest by the Beauxbatons’ carriage. The moon was full, and Fleur was full of nerves, the Goblet would make its decision tomorrow night and she couldn’t wait. She would finally be able to show them that she was more than just a creature.

She had just finished practicing a popular dueling spell chain, when she heard a twig snap. Immediately her head snapped towards the offending side of the clearing, her wand following swiftly.

There, stalking into the clearing was a large black wolf. As it stepped into the moonlight, she was able to see the subtle colors in its coat much like the feathers of a raven. A low growl reverberated in its throat as it continued to stalk forward. Its piercing yellow eyes focused on her.

Fleur froze up as she noticed the tail was shorter than you would see on a normal wolf. It was a werewolf. Fleur couldn’t believe it, what was a werewolf doing on Hogwarts grounds? They were 5X creatures. Highly resistant to most spells with strong endurance on top of it. She didn’t have any silver, nor was she adept at transfiguring it. Her best bet was to distract or entangle it and then run. With her thoughts set, she raised her wand and fired a set of incarcerous ropes.

With speed she wasn’t expecting the wolf made it across the clearing dodging several other spells along the way. With a mighty leap, it cleared the remaining distance pinning her to the ground with its formidable bulk.

Fleur couldn’t couldn't move her wand with how it was pinning her down. Her eyes wouldn’t close as she stared into its yellow eyes before the wind caught her hair and the beast’s nose twitched.

Suddenly, its fierce yellow eyes were replaced with a vibrant emerald green. The wolf’s face almost seemed confused as the snarl that was etched on its face left it with the wind.

The beast slowly backed off her before moving to the edge of the clearing. It took one last look back as its eyes flashed yellow and it went deeper into the forest.

It took a few minutes before Fleur’s heartbeat returned to normal and she promptly returned to the carriage. As she tried to fall asleep the sound of a wolf’s howl caused those striking emerald eyes to flash in her mind's eye. She couldn’t help but wonder who they belonged to.
