In a world where dragons are as ubiquituous as people, Harry Potter comes to learn magic at the prestigious Hogwarts School, the best in Britain. Having lost his parents, he seeks to learn as much as he can in order to be able to find a house of his own and earn a modest living.
At the school, he makes the usual friends and meets rivals, but most important of all, during one Scottish winter, he encounters one of the dragons calling the school's surroundings home. A friendly, fluffy and curious being, the dragon strikes up a quick friendship with Harry, even though they can not understand each other.
This way, Harry becomes one of the numerous people with a dragon companion (or dragons with human companions?). To help him learn all he needs, he studies under Hagrid, a gentle and knowledgeable giant of a man.
And a few years(?) later, delegations from other schools come, including a certain Fleur Delacour, with a fluffy dragon of her own.
