When Dementors were stationed around his school, Albus Dumbledore new they would stay there, the Minister was set in his ways. Dumbledore, however, also knew that stationing such creatures around a school full of sensitive teens was a recipe for disaster.
To combat the insidious fiends’ influence, the Headmaster arranged a deal with several healers and magical creature breeders around the world. When students arrived at the start of September, they were welcome by several new healers and instructors, accompanied by an enormous pack of friendly, patient, and affectionate magical dogs. Their special power was in their soft, fluffy coats, taking many different colours, the dogs and their fur were capable of spreading warmth and good cheer.
This year, students had both mandatory and voluntary lessons that they spent in the company of the healers and their dogs, talking about their troubles, learning how to take care of the dogs, and also just having plain fun.
At the end of the year, many of the dogs had litters of pups, and Harry was far from alone in volunteering to adopt one of the curious, friendly, affectionate balls of fluff.
