As Lute glared at her treacherous sister; who clutched her missing eye in agony, she hissed, “Of all the things you did throughout our childhood, never once did I think you would actively help a demon!” Lute growled with hatred.
“Your wings and eye shall serve as a reminder of the sister I once loved… Goodbye Vagatha, may your death be a peaceful one. I hope you enjoy the flames of hell!” She shouted as she flew away.
Twelve hours later, Lute was called to the office of the head seraphim of heaven: Sera.
“Do you know why I have called you here exterminator?” The Seraphim asked with a cold expression.
“No ma’am, am I in trouble?“ Loot asked in response.
“To be quite frank with you, I’m not certain, the Father has decided he wants to speak with you.”
Lute looked stunned, God wanted to speak to her directly, this could either go very good or very bad, she hoped it was the former.
After a few moments of silence, the Seraphim guided her to the office of the Almighty.
“Come in child,“ a booming voice said with what could only be described as a freezing tone.
“How may I serve you, my Lord?” Lute asked with reverence.
“You may begin by explaining why you attacked your sister,“ God requested in a firm voice.
“I did what I believed was right my Lord.” the angel replied firm in her conviction.
“Is that right?” God replied, intrigued.
“Yes…?” Lute responded, now slightly nervous.
God took a long pause, his gaze slowly becoming one of anger, “I see! Very well then, from now on, I shall grant you a task that supersedes your life as an exterminator, you shall be a guardian angel!”
“What…?”
