The Boy-Who-Burned

Voldemort heard more of the prophecy and so took more caution when approaching the Potters. Or so he thought. In this world he locked down the perimeter of the house to make sure the Potters could not escape and then he cast fiendfyre.

Voldemort reveled in the screams that came from the house. All was going according to plan as the house steadily burned and Voldemort kept complete control over the hellish flames. The problem came shortly after the screams stopped. The flame suddenly changed color to a green, the color of the killing curse and turned on its “master”, burning him, wand and all to ash before he could react.

Dumbledore and Sirius arrived on scene shortly after to the burnt remains of the house and among the wreckage they found a small child in the charred arms of his parents. Part of his face and body burned as he screamed into the cold October air.
